But, in looking for a PC, I came across ADK and they are incredible and have a support plan that will go as far as remoting in and tracking down any tech support issue whether they sold it to you or not, as long as it's plugged into, or installed on their comp.
That seems beyond valuable to me as I think up time and not having errors in front of clients is paramount. Does Apple have such a thorough plan for their comps and Logic when it comes to tech support? My Studio. I've definitely seen a lot of people say how stable it is, and a lot of people saying it's a disaster.
Also, Im coming from the mess of PT. The support is something I'm definitely looking for from the company themselves. Seems foolish that they don't.
This would be a much easier decision if I could demo it out. Honestly I doubt you will dissapointed. Seriously it's quite stable and hqrdly a disaster. This is incorrect, Apple does provide technical support for Logic, they actually have a dedicated department for it.
To receive support, you call the regular support hotline, and specifically ask for Logic support. Apple used to have dedicated support contracts for Pro Audio, looks like those don't exist anymore. But there are support contracts that cover Logic, details here and here. These are quite expensive, so you may be better off with case by case support.
It means, if something does not work in Logic, they assist. If it's an issue with a 3rd party plug, for example, they can tell you as much, but Apple support will not troubleshoot 3rd party products. The quality of Apple's support for Logic is excellent, as it is for all other products Hmmm I stand corrected then! The vast majority of issues can be resolved by basic troubleshooting , so a call to support should only be necessary in the rarest cases I agree.
I just have such odd problems with pro tools that I like the concept of a security blanket, or a support team being able to link it back to a sketchy plugin when I can't figure it out.
A large amount of issues are caused by bugs, and the way to solve the problem is to fix the bugs. I switched to Logic Pro X about four months ago.
I have not needed much because I have been pretty thorough with the manual and a couple of web sites I used to subscribe to Lynda and Groove3. Also, someone put up about 70 instructional videos, techhelp guy, I think. Anyway, between all of this and the forums I really have not been frustrated or without answers yet. Good luck. Both lynda.
